The Vintage Salt & Pepper Collection: Taken Down A Notch

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Robin

When you hear the phrase "salt and pepper collection," what does that bring to mind?

Something like this?

Or this?

While those collections may float some folks' boats, they're not my cup of tea. I prefer simple, minimal, and modern. And believe it or not, there are visually appealing S&P's out there. You're not limited to high end Dansk pepper mills either.

You just have to look a little harder to find them. Here are a few of our top salt and pepper shaker picks from the latest collection, The Colorful Kitchen. Which set is your favorite?

Open Wide and Say Aaagh

Normally, I'm not a big fan of Halloween -- I haven't dressed up in years and we don't hand out candy to trick or treaters. The past few years, we haven't even had so much as a pumpkin to decorate the house with!

However, I do enjoy weird and creepy vintage oddities. Yes, I do....

I figured today was the perfect day to share with you a recent find, fresh out of a defunct dental office that was operational in the 1950s and 1960s. The office was in the basement of a residence, and was filled to the brim with dental paraphernalia. Everything from an old fashioned dental chair to boxes of teeth! I came away with only a few vintage dental tools:
